another energy draining set at beats for aviery the last Friday. First, love and peace to the organizers and their band, A Little Girl Terrorist!!yippee... Some bands i caught and who rocked were Dr M's contradiction and Ephyra. Pictures will be available reallyy soon, especially for those interested in a magnified view of our sweaty, shirtless, moppy haired singer. p.s. jerome rocks for being my human shield during the crazy assed moshes.

Sweaty dudes, hardcore music and a broken door....
its dawn here, quiz time folks: what ranks as the most perilous place to be on earth right after standing next to a overflowing foutain of molten lava. The answer can be found down there. NO, not DOWN there you one-track minded goon...by scrolling down. Frederick the detective has kindly taken pictures of all the evidence of why playing at beat merchants during a gig is akin to being wihin the bowels of a fiery dragon. Exhibit A: door hanging from its broken hinge. Very CSI-style huh.
Here's a shoutout to some cool people who have been supporting Aviery for the past few shows without fail: Anthony n the hatred guys, colin, yan and the geisha guys...ok, i missed the first band no direction, and the last band strayvoice but as a consolation to myself i made it there on time to finally get to see the hansumm dudes from Ephyra play a show. Hands down, they really got me in a great mood for the rest of the post-hardcore night...awesome vocals yo...
K, go check our gigs page for upcoming shows. byeee

Disillusioned By Smooth Pop gig was crazy!!
Aviery played alongside with Strayvoice, No Direction, Dying With Mary Jane, Ephyra.
the aftermath of the gig:
a broken belt

an air freshener broke into many parts

a hole in the ceiling(caused by a mic)

one strong mic(still workable after hitting the ceiling)

lastly, a broken door!

For more pictures, click here!
Just want to thank everyone for coming down to the gig! you guys are awesome bunch! Thank you Vanessa for taking our band photos!
We are meeting our producer next week! woohoo!

latest update! just bought a camera to assist me for designing. spent about $800+ and really burnt a hole in my pocket, but that camera is really worth.
well, we had our jamming today. Kolin, Ian and Vanessa from Apathetic Geisha also joined in our session.. it was pouring heavily after our jamming, firdaus and sufrin had to rush to Boons to meet up with their another band, In Hatred and Gifted.. So, we had to walk under the cold rain to the bus stop in front of Tekka Mall. HELL. there were like 40+ people at that bus stop. crazy!! anyway, less talking, here's some photos,

that's Zul from In hatred and gifted. dawn calls him Elf. she calls every pretty boy "Elf" haha.

had a nice time today.
see ya on the gig this saturday..

Today's competition went well.
a big thanks to Apathetic Geisha once again!! You guys rock!! it's a pity that Zombie Bar didn't provide keyboards, otherwise vanessa will be playing the Atreyu song. Apathetic Geisha, if you have any gigs coming up, just message us, we'll be there to support you!!
these 2 days, i really seen a lot of good bands! For today, i'm gonna have to highlight Crossbred. They are truly the kings of all guitar players. Amazing originals they have there, both guitars playing lead together and never out of timing. What really gives the audience a real big shock, was during the interval to their second song., the stage light went off and one of the guitarist's guitar LIT UP!! freaking wicked!!
and there's the other band, West Grand Boulevard!! They are like the fathers who brought me in to local scene about 2 years back(p.s it's a term, they are not old!!).
It's nice to see Jude, Eric, Bryan, Dharma, Jon performing. Jon's drumming was amazing. One of the best drummer i've ever seen. WGB songs are wicked especially when the whole band are made up of really talented musicians.
here's the results:
1st: West Grand Boulevard
2nd: Skyjuice(a band that plays bon jovi)
3rd: Crossbred
4th: Aviery
WGB and Skyjuice made it to the finals. Congras to them! Go WGB!!
p.s.Taking part in a competition is like taking O' levels.

Thank you thank you and thank you!!
It was a great evening for everyone who was there. We met so many nice bands and friends!
Apathetic Geisha opened the gig and what could i say, they are really really good young talents. They played about the same genre as us(the bled, atreyu, etc..)!! All of them are really young.. talks about age, i guess my band is kinda old. anyway, age doesn't matter in the rock scene right? hehe. Bryo, i finally see you playing, it's just most of our gigs, you are always there! :)
The other bands that played along, was Demo Cassette(a punk rock band!), All Of These(another young band!, they played covers from Saosin! woo!)
Last but not least, Caracal. This rock band is way cool! they are the highlight for everyone! :) the vocalist is good, the riffs are killer! you guys ought to check them out. click here for their blogspot!
our first set of aviery's stickers are going to finish soon. the 2nd set of stickers will be up!
To Martin and Field of Caracal, thanks for helping us for the sound check! To dawn, We are not elfs!! thank you Martin for giving us this slot and to play alongside with your band.
Thank you, each and everyone of you for not moshing. hehe, i got back my $20! :) So people, leave a tag at our tagboard okay? It'll take awhile to load, so be patience.
See you soon..
